A path to the national team

Japan Challenge 2026 was a selection event for the "JC slot" of the World Cup squad. Based on the day's results and the points below, the association adds up to one team's worth of players.

  1. Play and results

Results on the day and the quality of play.

  2. Team attitude

Initiative and attitude as a team, and help with running the venue and event.

  3. Growing the sport

Contribution to spreading and promoting YOU.FO, and the overall impression from the day.

Selection may be by team or by individual; for individuals the association decides the final team line-up. The JC slot is in addition to the regular application slots and the Japan Select slot. Results are announced after the tournament. The squad is not decided by this tournament alone; it is based on several tournaments and each player's activity.
